Tasting Notes
The Atalon Winery, named after the French for benchmark, was set up in 1997 by Jess Jackson. The project was handed to winemaker Brian J. Kosi to source grapes from Napa's best sites like the Rutherford Bank in the heart of the valley and the higher lying Mayacamas and Vaca Mountain Ranges. The delicious Pauline's Cuvée an unashamed copy of a classic St Emilion, is made from 63% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in Mostly French oak casks for 16 months. As Brian J Kosi says, it has great depth and balance, the definition of soft and velvety!
