Tasting Notes
Clos des Quarterons is a 37 hectare family run estate in Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil; Agnes and Xavier are the sixth generation of the Amirault family, they have been farming organically and bio dynamically since 2013. The Domaine is mostly planted with Cabernet Franc but has just over a hectare of Chenin Blanc, planted on gravel over clay soils that trap the heat of the sun. As there is no appellation for white St-Nicholas it has the AC Anjou Blanc. The grape s are picked when ripe and put into 500lt oak Demi-Muids for between 9-12 months before bottling, the resulting wine is aromatic and complex with quince and apple notes of peach orange peel. A full long dry creamy palate with red apples, baked apples and notes of physalis and a mineral long dry finish.
