Tasting Notes
Having been vilified as the devils spawn for most of my near 40 years in the wine trade, Lambrusco is back. Vinified as a red wine using the low pigmented Sorbara grape, which is then fermented in bottle like Champagne to become fizzy, unlike Champagne the yeast is left in the bottle giving extra flavour and a slight haze and deposit in the bottle. The hazy pale pink colour is very attractive as is the almost peachy floral nose. With a mineral wrapped red apple, peach and red fruited palate this is a very attractive alternative to the ubiquitous Prosecco though you need to be careful of sediment the in the last drop.
