Tasting Notes
Rongzi Winery was set up buy mining and power supplying Sqillioniare, Zang Wenquan spending over 1 Billion Yuan on a 400 hectare vineyard and 30 hectare park and a massive Pagoda Chateau. With advice from China's top Viticulturist he chose vineyards in Xiangning in north easterly Shanxi Province, Named after Rongzi the first Chinese lady winemaker abck in 2700 years ago. The deep Loess soils and cool climate made it ideal for viticulture. ad brought in Top French winemaker Jean-Claude Berrouet, ex of Ch. Petrus no less, to oversee the project. The Red Label is a blend of 55% Marselan, 36% Cabernet sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc and offers a complex nose of dark berries, chocolate, cocoa and herbs and a full elegant, long palate of earthy dark berries and cherries with soft tannins and bright attractive acidity. Impressive.
