Tasting Notes
David Clouston is one of the young stars in the Kiwi winemaking firmament and his Two Rivers of Marlborough wines deliver every time, even in tricky vintages like 2017. David selects the finest parcels of fruit from five sites in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, the best sub-regions in Marlborough, after three months on it yeast lees in stainless steel this is run off and bottled. His wines are typified by their elegant though vibrant fruit and subtle balance of minerals and acidity. Crushed fresh herbs and tomato leaf aromas with hints of gooseberry, fennel and nettles. Dry and almost saline to taste, with ripe Greengage and limey mouth-watering acidity. The fleshy yet lively palate has a lovely creamy texture and a bright juicy finish. One of the best 2017's you'll find.
