Description
Decoy was founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1985 as the second wine of their Duckhorn Estate. In 2005 Decoy became an Estate in its own right, with its own vineyards supported by fruit bought from long standing grower suppliers.
In 2020 Decoy released the first of their Limited wines being the apogee of the Estate’s wines.
Decoy’s Limited Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vines in the Alexander Valley, a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, aged for 14 months in French oak barrels 40% new and the remainder older neutral barrels.
With complex aromas of black currant, cherry, ripe plum, and sweet baking spices. With ripe tannins and juicy layers of dark berries, mint chocolate notes pepper and toasty oak with a long finish.
