Canard Duchêne’s impressive Cuvee Léonie Rosé offers rewarding depth and complexity at a great price
This Canard Duchêne’s premium NV cuvée Rosé is named after one of the founders Léonie Duchène and was put together by owner Alain Thiénot and some of the retired cellar masters from the estate, from 40% Pinot Noir 30% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, with 25% reserve wines. It spends three years on its lees in the cellar before being disgorged with a dosage 8 g/l giving it a welcome richness. In the glass it offers a pretty colour and a persistent fine mousse an attractive red fruited creamy nose and a soft quite raspberry, biscuity and yeasty dry palate.
