Château Haut-Rian Rouge Côtes de Bordeaux 2018
This attractive approachable Côtes de Bordeaux is always great value
Ch. Haut-Rian is situated on a ridge close to the eastern bank of the Garenne River north of Cadillac, in the Côtes de Bordeaux region.
Bought by Michel Dietrich in 1978 and now run by his daughter Pauline, continuing the family’s commitment to excellence, producing a white, Rosé and this red. The red is a blend of 70% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, planted on a mix of clay on Limestone and clay on Gravel. The wines are fermented in tank and part sees six months in oak casks. The result is attractive with juicy red and black fruits and easy tannins this is drinking well but could keep a bit too.
