The indulgently rich La Falaise is made from 50% Syrah fermented and aged in 50% new barriques and 40% Grenache and 10% Mouvedre which are fermented in 600 lt oak demi -muids
Chateau la Negly, overlooks the Mediterranean in the Languedoc’s La Clape sub-region, near Narbonne. Jean Paux-Rosset along with his son Bastien and winemaking consultant Claude Gros have completely overhauled this estate and the excellent La Falaise cuvée is one of its results.
The indulgently rich La Falaise is made from 50% Syrah fermented and aged in 50% new barriques and 40% Grenache and 10% Mouvedre which are fermented in 600 lt oak demi -muids. Syrah dominates the nose with its blue and black berry notes though lifted red fruits from the Grenache soon emerge. The palate is warm ripe and powerful with spice notes again dominated by the Syrah there is plenty of sweet cherries wild herbs too and balancing acidity and ripe tannins, very impressive.
