Domaine Philippe Livera Côtes de Nuits Villages 2019
This lovely powerfully fruited Côtes de Nuits Villages comes from a site known as Préau in the village of Brochon, just north of Gevrey-Chambertin
This small domaine of only 8.5 hectares is run by Damien Livera since 2007. Previously the fruit from here was sold to negociants in Beaune. Damien undertook a complete regeneration of the Domaine, converting his vineyards to Lutte Raisonée, all but organic farming, and buying a new cellar; this was time well spent as his wines are now stunning. This lovely powerfully fruited Côtes de Nuits Villages comes from a site known as Préau in the village of Brochon, just north of Gevrey-Chambertin, the vines were planted in the 1950s and 60’s so have the age to produce substantial and complex fruit, a Gevrey in all but name.
