A very interesting dry Malvasia from Istria in Croatia
The Kozlovic Winery was founded in the early 1900's in north east Istria close to the Slovenian boorder. Their creamy dry Malvasia comes from the cooler lower slope of the vineyard circa 200-250m high from vines between 12-60 years of age. The wine undergoes a cold maceration for 2 days to extract colour and flavours before fermentation in stainless steel tanks where it ages for a further 7 months.
