Description
Alex Foillard is the son of the famous Beaujolais winemaker Jean Foillard, Alex worked with his father for many years and also worked widely abroad. His approach is not surprisingly very similar to his father’s, organic farming, fermenting in open tanks with natural yeasts no fining or filtration and minimal addition of sulfur. Alex inherited vineyards in and around Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly on his 24th birthday including this parcel of 70 year old Gamay vines. The results are some of the purest expressions of Gamay, lifted ethereal aromatics and delicate red fruits on the palate with real length, quite lovely.
