Description

Alpha Estate was founded in the Amyndeon region of North west Macedonia in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and chemist-oenologist Angelos Iatridis. The estate now extends to 220 hectares and is now run by their daughters Emorfili and Angeliki.

The Hedgehog vineyard sits at an elevation of 690m, getting its name from the hedgehogs that have nested there for many generations.

This dark spicy Xinomavro was aged 12 months in French oak and a further 12 months in bottle.
