Andrew Murray’s winery in the Santa Ynez valley of Santa Barbara is almost entirely dedicated to his pursuit of growing the best Rhône varietals. Lovers of wines from the Rhône should not miss this great range of wines.
Having travelled in the Rhône and worked in Australia he returned home to study viticulture and oenology at UC Davis and founded his winery in the cool Santa Ynez Valley. Here coastal breezes are funnelled in from the coast giving a long growing season ideal for Syrah.
Andrew Murray’s delicious white Enchanté is a blend of Grenache Blanc and Roussanne fermented and aged in old oak barrels and just one new one. The power of the Roussanne is perfectly countered by the freshness of the Grenache blanc, making an enticing whole
