Description

Cillar de Silos was created by Amelio Aragón in 1970 when he started buying parcel of land in the Burgos region of northern Ribero del Duero the winery is now run by the brothers and sister team of Oscár, Roberto and Amelia Aragón. They now farm 150 hectares of high lying vineyards in three locations, Quintana del Pidio, La Aguilera and Gumiel de Mercado with vines between 15 to 100+ years of age. Their wines age in a deep 16^th century cellar ventilated by zarceras, unique cone shaped stone vents which keep the cellar at between 11-12° throughout the year.

Their warm spicy dark fruited Crianza comes from 25-40 year old vines and is aged for a year in French oak barrels.
