Description
Sylvain Langoureau’s old family Domaine is situated in the small hamlet of Gamay which is surrounded by the vineyards of Saint-Aubin. Sylvain took over in 1989 and with help from his wife Nathalie has grown the estate to 9 hectares mostly in St-Aubin and Puligny, farming organically and a hands-off approach in the cellar using only the natural yeast and a careful balance of oak, his 2022’s are delicious.
Sylvain’s Puligny comes from the premier cru vineyard of La Garenne which sit above Champ-Gain near the hamlet of Blagny. The grapes get a cold soak before fermenting with their natural yeasts aged on their lees without stiring in oak barrels 20% new. The nose reveals refined scents of jasmine and acacia mixed with aromas of fresh almond and apricot. All highlighted by a discreet touch of vanilla. The minerality of the terroir and the liveliness of the citrus zest bring a lot of dynamism to a full-bodied palate with a very long finish.
