Description

Founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976 planting 10 hectares Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon their first vintage was in 1978. The Duckhorn portfolio of wines now has extended to 298 acres across the Napa Valley’s five sub-regions.

The Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet is sourced from vines in Rutherford made up of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot Aged for 16 months in 50% new and 50% old French barrels. With a powerful nose of black berries and cassis with tobacco and graphite note and a long voluptuous palate of blue and blackberries hints of black pepper and a mineral core. This is drinking well now but has a long life ahead too.
