Founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976 planting 10 hectares Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon their first vintage was in 1978. The Duckhorn portfolio of wines now has extended to 298 acres across the Napa Valley’s five sub-regions.

Dan And Margaret Duckhorn have been specialising in Merlot from their very first vintage in 1978 and are renowned for producing the very best. Their Napa Valley Merlot is a blend of 76% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc sourced from five sub-regions of Napa, Oak Knoll, Carneros, Calistoga, Howell Mountain and Atlas Peak. The wine spends 15 months in French Oak 40% new and 60% older neutral barrels. The high levels of Cabernet empower the classic Merlot dark cherry and plum fruit, with notes of tobacco, liquorice and vanilla, ripe tannins and balance acidity complete an attractive full mouthful.
