Description
The Newton Johnson Estate was founded in 1985 by Dave and Felicity Newton Johnson in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. The estate is now run by their two sons Gordon, who makes the wines wine and Bevan who runs the marketing side.
Their elegant Walker Bay Pinot Noir is sourced from three vineyards of varying altitude and soil type. After careful grape selection and de-stemming the grapes drop straight into the fermenter engendering a spontaneous fermentation with the natural yeasts after 20-25 days the wine is racked into oak barrels for its second fermentation and a further 11 months aging.
