Description
This stunning Albariño comes from a 7 acre vineyard above the Verdugo river in the Soutomaior sub region of Rias Baixas south of the port of Pontevedra. This tiny plot is lovingly tended by Noelia Bebelia and her husband Simon. They farm all but organically as they need to spray against mildew because of the close proximity to the sea and river. The poor sandy soils restricts the yield producing tiny grapes, as the flavours of Albariño comes from just under the skins this is really intense and powerful on the nose and palate. With ripe melon and peach but with nice balancing acidity and minerality from the granitic sandy soils. Very long and very impressive!
