Description
Pelee Island 0n Lake Erie is the most southerly point of Canada. Vines were first planted here in 1854 but viticulture had died out by 1915. It was replanted in 1979 and now with 700 acres is the largest vineyard in Canada.
Their Icewine is made from 100% Vidal left on the vines until frozen late in the year the grapes are picked frozen and immediately pressed to retain the high sugar levels before slowly fermenting in stainless steel. acheiving 9.5% Alcohol with 147.9 g/l of residual sugar. Intence and sweet but finely balanced with acidity, very long.
