Description

A delicious Pinot Grigio from a top estate in the Collio Region of north west Italy.

Ronco dei Tassi was started in 1989 when Fabio Coser and his wife Daniela bought 22 acres in the heart of the Collio Goriziano, close to the Slovenian border in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia.

The name comes from the fact that the vineyards, are planted on terraces (Ronci) 400-600 m up to expose the vines to the maximum amount of sunlight, and at harvest time they are visited by a cete of badgers (tassi) who raid the ripe grapes.

Their Pinot Grigio wine has some time on the skins giving a faint pink tinge in the glass and a complex bouquet of flowers, pear and yellow plum, a creamy palate and a long finish make this a cut above the normal.
