The Sanford Winery is a renowned estate in the cool Santa Rita Hills AVA north of Santa Barbara. Their pioneering Sanford and Benedict Vineyard, planted in 1971 by Richard Sanford and Michael Benedict started the craze for Chardonnay and Pinot in the region.
Sanford’s impressive Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is sourced from the younger vines of their Sanford and Benedict vineyard and nearby La Rinconada Vineyard. Fermented in stainless steel and aged 11 months in 27% new French oak.
