Description
Trentacoste’s Montepulciano d’Abruzzo comes from the hills of the Colli Aprutini near the town of Teramo. The rolling hills give good exposure and cooling winds from the coast give balance. Two passes are made through the vineyard, to select the Montepulciano grapes, in late September and early October both parcels are vinified separately given a cool maceration and fermentation and aged 3-4 months in French oak before blending.
The nose is rich in berries, plums and cherries, with hints of coffee and vanilla the palate is rich, full-bodied and juicy. Balanced acidity, soft tannins and a long and soft finish.
