Telmo Rodríguez and his winemaker Pablo Eguzkiza started making wine in Navarra in 1994 within two years he had been tempted away by the fresh crisp Verdejo grape of Rueda from north-western Spain, buying vines there to make his Basa Vedejo now in its 20th vintage. The Basa is made from 90% Verdejo and 10% Viura grapes, fermented in stainless steel to keep the fresh aromatics herbal, citrus and crisp white fruits that make this so enticing.
