A classic powerful dark fruited Californian Cabernet from the Livermore Valley
The Wente family have been making and growing wine in California's Livermore Valley since 1883; this vibrant company is run by 4th generation Eric Wente and 5th Generation Karl Wente as head winemaker, with a host of other Wente's also in the business.
The Wetmore Vineyard is named after Charles Wetmore who was the first to import and plant Bordeaux Varietal here in the 1880's, some of the vines here are direct decendants.
Made from 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit-Syrah, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec fermented in stainless steel and aged for 18 months in 40% new 60% second use French oak barrels.
