Tasting Notes
Kevin Grant is recognized as one of South Africa's leading Chardonnay specialists having spent 10 years as winemaker at Hamilton Russell one of the pioneer estate in the cool coastal region of Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. having previously been sourced from selected grapes from various parts of the Walker bay region it now boast fruit from his own vineyard perched up on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge it's cool position and stony Clary soils give freshness and vigor to this beautifully balanced wine. Kevin ferments and ages this for 9 months in mostly second fill French oak casks with only 28% new. This combines the freshness and elegance of a top Burgundy with the power of the New World. Ataraxia means a serene state of mind, free from worry and preoccupation. Something we can only dream of in Pre-Brexit Britain, oh well another glass....
