Tasting Notes
This excellent little known Margaux estate is one to watch. With a multi-talented owner in Claire Villars, vines replanted in 1988 now coming into maturity and a new winery built in 1992. Classic Margaux elegance and polish this will tickle many peoples fancy. Planted 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot on a mix of deep gravel, next to Ch. Margaux and sandier gravels near Soussons to the north. The wines are fermented in tank then spend a year in oak barrels 25% new. Truffley dark berries and herbs on the nose, a good structured palate with nice length and balance, drinking now with some air but will age very well.
