Tasting Notes
Herdade de Grous was founded in 1987 by the Pohl family who also own Vila Vita one of the top resorts in the Algave. Grou is Portuguese for a Crane by the way. No expense is spared here a state of the art winery, immaculate vineyards and a top winemaking team making some exciting wines. This is made from the local Antão Vaz grape with some Verdelho and Viognier fermented and aged in new French and Hungarian oak barrels giving flavours of peach and citrus balancing minerals, acidity and nice oak. Impressive.
