Tasting Notes
The 2015 vintage was one of the greats in the Beaujolais and Morgon's Côte du Py is renowned as the best site but a few lucky growers have a portion of the small Javernieres Lieu-dit at the foot of the slope which is the closest thing to a Grand Cru in the Beaujolais. The affable Jean-Paul Brun is one of those and this is possibly the best Beaujolais I've ever tried. A powerful nose of ripe raspberries and plums with an intense palate of again raspberries, cherries, lots of minerals and really impressive length.
