Tasting Notes
This exciting young estate is making a range of superb wines from their vines in Valpolicella and Soave. Started by Roberta Roncolato and her husband Giacomo in 2009 using her father's vineyards, the fruit of which had previously been sold to other producers. This lovely deep coloured ripe fruited wine spends time on the skins of the air dried grapes which had just been pressed for their Amarone, this creates a short fermentation and a small turbo charge bouquet and flavour. This real winter warmer has a knock out nose of ripe black cherries and plums with notes of coffee and spices and a velvety soft yet powerful ripe fruited long oak wrapped palate. Top Italian critic Luca Maroni scored it 93/100.
