Description
This excellent estate was founded in 1991 by Francois and Isabelle Lumpp, in Givry in the Côte Chalonnaise. Their daughter Anne-Cecile now runs the 9.5 hectare Domaine, farming as organically as possible during the early part of the growing season and employ limited doses of conventional treatments later on, to avoid tractor usage and compaction of their soils.
Her Teppe des Chenèves comes from high-lying Chardonnay vines planted in 2016 on limestone. This is only the 3rd vintage of this wine she has made and it looks a cracker. Fermented and aged in 400l French oak with about 30% new barrels.
White Givry is rare and accounts for only 10-20% of production.
