Description
Cillar de Silos was created by Amelio Aragón in 1970 when he started buying parcel of land in the Burgos region of northern Ribero del Duero the winery is now run by the brothers and sister team of Oscár, Roberto and Amelia Aragón. They now farm 150 hectares of high lying vineyards in three locations, Quintana del Pidio, La Aguilera and Gumiel de Mercado with vines between 15 to 100+ years of age. Their wines age in a deep 16th century cellars ventilated by zarceras, unique cone shaped stone vents which keep the cellar at between 11-12° throughout the year.
The powerful Torresila, from a blend of 40-100 year old vines and leaps from the glass with warm spice dark fruits, the silky tannins and mineral backbone gives good balance to the powerful fruit
