Description
Danbury Ridge was founded by two generations of the Bunker family: Michael and Heather Bunker and, their daughters Janine and Sophie aided by winemaker Liam Idzikowski. The first vines were planted in 2014 In the Crouch Valley and the Blackwater Estuary in Essex. Danbury Ridge is recognised as a one of the UK’s best estates for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Fruit was handpicked and whole bunch pressed. The juice was transferred to 228L Burgundian oak barrels for fermentation. The wine was then left on gross lees for 12 months, where malolactic fermentation took place. After racking the wine is transferred to tanks where it rests for a further 6 months.
Rich and complex this has the weight and depth of a good Côte de Beaune Chardonnay.
