Description
Firmin Dezat’s lovely fresh Sancerre Rosé comes from 25 year old Pinot Noir vines planted on Silex soils, giving racy freshness and lovely minerality to the red fruits.
The famous Sancerre house of André Dezat was split between two sides of the family in 2021, Firmin Dezat with help from his father Phillipe has retained the old family winery in the village of Verdigny and half the vineyard holding which he is current converting to organic farming and will be certified for the 2024 vintage. His vineyards are spread over the two main soil types of Sancerre known as, Terre Blanches, chalky clay and Caillottes, stony limestone giving a good depth of flavour. His wines have a real purity with a good backbone of minerality and fresh acidity, they should keep well too.
