Description
La Collina dei Ciliegi was founded by Massimo Gianolli, in the high lying Valpantena region of Valpollicella. Massimo has worked with the famous viticulturist couple Claude and Lydia Bourguignon to isolate the best soils and clones and varietals. Valpantena has high levels of limestone in the soils and here at La Collina some parcels of chalk which spurred Massimo to plant white varietals as well as the classic reds.
His Ca’ del Moro Garganega Veronese is one of the fruits of this venture. Garganega is the grape of Soave to the south. Here altitude, limestone and chalk give a delicious example of what this grape can achieve. Aged mostly in stainless steel and some acacia barrels this offers an enticing nose of flowers and Canteloup melon, is followed by a complex, fresh yet intense palate with lovely length. Great value.
