Description

Matias Riccitelli set up his winery in 2009 having worked with his father Jorge, a renowned winemaker and several top wineries in the region. With small parcels of vineyards in Luyan de Cuyo and the Valle de Uco mostly at high altitude he makes an impressive selection of wines.

Matias’ Republica del Malbec comes from a plot of vines planted  1927 at 1100m up in the Las Compuertas subregion of Luyan de Cuyo. The grapes are carefully sorted and fermented in 1000l oak vats before aging 50% in 1, 2 and 3 year old barriques and 50% in 1000l oak foudres to emphasize the wonderful fruit of these old vines.
