Description
Scribe Winery founded in 2007 by brothers, Andrew and Adam Mariani on the site of a property that pioneered pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley winemaking.
Their Pinot Noir comes from three vineyards in Carneros, 5 miles from the winery two planted with Dijon clones and one with Pommard. Part pressed and part whole bunch fermented in stainless steel with natural yeasts, then aged 7 months in 90% neutral old oak and 10% new
The result is delicate and pretty with notes of cherry sours and pepper on the nose and riper strawberries and cherries on the palate freshened with mineral and nice acidity and perky tannins with a long finish which shows its breed and quality.
