Description
Sesta di Sopra was founded in 1980 with the purchase of 40 hectares of land in the warmer south east of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, near the town of Castelnuovo dell’ Abate. The vineyards which make up only 4 hectare are surrounded by forest and olive plantations and sit at about 400m up.
Their lovely Rosso di Montalcino sourced from their younger vines boast a stunning nose and palate of bright briary cherries and spice notes with balanced tannins and freshness.
Aged a mix of new and older French barriques.
