Description
Brice Cutrer Jones, a former fighter pilot, founded Sonoma-Cutrer in 1981 with the goal of producing exceptional Chardonnay in the Burgundian style. In 2024 is was aquired by the Duckhorn group, retaining winemaker Cara Morrison who has worked there since 2005.
Their Les Pierres vineyard is situated in the south of the Sonoma Coast region, being an ex quarry the stones make up over 50% of the soil makeup giving minerality and making the vines work for their moisture putting down deep roots.
The grapes are hand picked and after careful sorting are whole bunch pressed and fermented in oak barrel, resting ontheir lees for five months. the wine is then racked and blended before returning to three year old oak barrels for further seven months aging.
