Description
This Tezza’s ultimate expression of Amarone, comes from their oldest vines sourced from two separate vineyards in Valpolicella’s only Cru Valpantena. Made from air dried Corvina (80%), Rondinella (15%),and the little known Oseleta (5%) grapes; the shrivelled grapes are pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for about 30 days with regular pumping over and punching down of the skins for extraction and colour. The wine then spends 4 years in barrel and a further year in bottle before release. This is a stunning mouth filling Amarone drinking now but can only get better with time.
Cousins Flavio, Vanio and Federico are the third generation to have farmed in the valley of Valpantena, north of Verona, their wines will be certified Organic from the 2018 vintage. Their new winery boasts state of the art fermentation tanks and boasts a new drying hall with controlled temperature and humidity levels that ensure ideal conditions for drying the grapes destined for use in Amarone and the old family cellars are used for aging the wines in barrel.
