Alain Thiénot's Ch. de Ricaud is situated near Cadillac, across the Gironde River from the Graves, the lighter soils here make for early drinking attractive wines with good value. Planted with 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot aged in mix of tank and oak barrels. Well balanced juicy dark fruits, smooth and fleshy on the palate with nicely integrated tannins.
