Description
This excellent fifth generation family owned House based in the Premier Cru village Vertus in the Côtes de Blancs. Brothers Emmanuel and Charles-Henry Fourny use fruit from their own vines and a little from those leased from other family members; their vineyards are farmed organically with low yields and the vines average 40 years of age.
The Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru NV comes mostly from Vertus and is 100% Chardonnay a blend of three consecutive vintages all fermented in a mix of tank and oak casks with 7 months on their lees, with minimal use of Sulphur and no fining or filtration, before fermentation in bottle and a further 3 years aging before disgorgement and a low dosage of 6 g/l makes them dry and very fresh. These are beautiful complex lively and fresh wines with lots of depth and should not be missed.
