Description
This jewel of a Sauternes estate sits across the road from First Growth Château Climens on a similar soil: calcareous clay on fissured rock, peppered with red iron, white limestone, and grey flint gravel. This tiny vineyard is run by Hervé Dubourdieu and his sons André and Leon. Only Semillon is planted and the vines have an average age of 45 years old. Particular care is taken, making several passes through the vines, to pick only grapes with Noble Rot. The wine spend 18 months aging in barrel. Bottled in 375ml.
Intense, complex and quite lovely!
