Description
Pietro Caciorgna cut his teeth making wine in the Marche and Tuscany his first production here on Mt Etna was in 2013. The wines are very elegant and long with pretty red fruits, a mineral core and good acidity to balance
The Guardoilvento vines are north northeast facing on dark sandy, stony soils of Santo Spirito ( Castiglione di Sicilia), and Bocca d’Orzo di Randazzo at 750 m up. The Nerello Mascalese vines date from pre-philloxera rootstock and give low yields. Farming is organic and the grapes are hand picked and fermented in stainless steel with further aging in French oak.
