Description
Founded in 1952 by Roger Sabon, Domaine Roger Sabon is still a family-run business. The estate has been run since 2004 by winemaker Didier Nègron whose wife is a Sabon. He farms 18 hectares in Chateauneuf scattered over 14 plots in some of the best sites.
Their Cuvée Les Olivets is their most approachable wine, made from 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Cinsault from 50 year old vines, the wine are given a long maceration on the skins and fermented in concrete tanks and aged in large oak foudres. The restrained use of oak lifts the aromatics and spicy dark cherry fruit, drinking now but will keep well too.
