Babylonstoren Babel 2021
Babylonstoren's excellent Babel is a nine varietal blend which really delivers in the glass.
Babylonstoren's excellent Babel is a multi varietal blend from vines grown on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in the Paarl Sllenbosh and Franshoek regions.
Made from 53% Shiraz, 19% Pinotage, 8%Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot,5% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Grenache and 1% Marselan. Each varietal is vinified separately and aged in a mix of new and aged barrels of various sizes before blending, then aged for a further year in large oak foudres before bottling.
The nose of black fruits and sweet spice leaps from the glass and a long complex dark fruited palate with graphite, hints of chocolate and spices, with easy tannins this is a real winner and should not be missed.
