Château des Tours Brouilly 2022
Brouilly is the largest of the Beaujolais Cru’s and often one of the more powerful. Chateau des Tours, planted with old vines at high altitude, is one of the best.
Brouilly is the largest of the Beaujolais Cru’s and often one of the more powerful. Chateau des Tours is owned by the Richard family, Parisian Restauranteurs since 1986. The chateau with its 14th century tower is surrounded by its high lying vineyards (330m up) extending to 173 acres. The vines are old averaging 40 years of age planted in the classic Gobilet, bush, fashion on sandy soils. The grapes are part destemmed before fermentation and macerated on the skins for two weeks with regular punching down for colour and flavour extraction.
A deep colour with attractive, quite powerful raspberry and herbal fruit, freshness and soft tannins, very attractive.
