This really classy Merlot comes from a cool coastal site in Uruguay's Maldonado region.
This textbook Merlot offer ripe but balance plummy fruit on the nose and plumbs, cocoa, figs and herbs on the long palate.
Cerro del Toro was founded in 2016 by the Kambara family from Japan, aided by winemaker Martin Viggiano. Their 800 hectare estate with 28 hectares of vines is situated in Maldonado, only a couple of kilometres from the sea.
