An attractive Pinot Noir from the Côte Chalonaise in southern Burgundy
Ch de Garnerot dates from the 18th century and is situated amongst it vines in the village of Mercurey, run since 2018 by Alexia Russo and Caroline Fyot. They farm 7 hectares of vines organically and partly biodynamically though not certified for either. This comes from vines in Mellecey, just outside the Mercurey AC and north of Givry.
The grapes are handpicked and fermented in stainless steel and aged in large oak casks fro 10 months. Attractive red fruits on the nose and in the mouth with a savory richness and nice balance of acidity.
